We’ve recently had our first Youth in Mind Awards at Cornwall’s Eden Project to celebrate the young people that have contributed to the project.

Below you can see a selection of images from the night as well as the video’s created by each group. The evening was a way for us to say thank you to all involved and we’re excited to continue spreading messages about health and well-being.

We’ll be adding more images and videos from the evening, so watch this space!

Us: A guide to being kind

Our latest video entitled 'Us' was made by a fantastic group of students at Pencalenick school. The group had lots of ideas and we created a range of notes on topics that the video could be about. One of the key themes that kept cropping up was the idea of 'being...

Pride Not Prejudice

For this video we worked with a group of students from Mullion school who were all members of the schools LGBTQ+ club. They had a number of ideas related to the topic they were keen to discuss and it was tricky to decide the best route to take. Some other ideas were...

Message Sent

Our newest video was made by a group of students at Newquay Tretherras. Initially the ideas were centred around social media but the students felt like this topic had perhaps been tackled before. Instead they opted to go for something more hard hitting and relevant to...

It’s OK Not to Be OK

We spent 3 days with some amazing students at Cape Cornwall School working on a video that they felt strongly about. The ideas were great and during the planning stages we quickly came up with the main section of our video. The group wanted to create a piece about...

5 Ways to Well-being

After a bit longer than expected, we've finally got the completed video for October!! Better late than never. More to the point, the young people involved decided to create a video that offers some ideas for self-help, as well as showing how your hobbies help towards...

Listen to Us – Newest video

It's finally live! Back in September some members of the Youth in Mind team planned and shot our newest video. With a day of planning, loads of ideas were thrown into the mix and as the day went on, there was a clear link. It was ultimately decided that the common...

Video 3: We’re Not Different. We’re The Same As You!

We loved the title our third team came up with for their Youth In Mind video. Straight to the point isn’t it?! “We’re not different. We’re the same as you”. It very nearly was called “Stop Calling Us Special!” This month we’ve been looking at disability and learning...

Video Killed The Radio Star?

We don’t think so! While producing video content is a huge part of what we do at YOUth In Mind, it isn’t the only form of media we introduce our teams to. Each month our workshops also look at social media and radio content. Why radio? In the ever changing world of...

Video Two: Moving On Up

Can you remember what it was like to go up to secondary school? Maybe you haven’t made the move yet, maybe it was recently or maybe it was so long ago you can’t remember! Thing is, it’s quite a big deal and at this time of year, with Year 5’s starting to visit schools...

So, what is Youth In Mind? Why should you get involved? What’s the point? We thought as we get our first videos off the ground it would make sense to explain the background to the project and what our contributors and viewers will gain by taking part. HeadStart Kernow...
