Back on the 28th March we had an amazing evening where we were able to celebrate all the Young People that have taken part in this project, and a massive thanks to everyone that came. When Youth in Mind was started, i’m not sure everyone could see where it would go and how it would all work, but as time has gone on, it has gone from strength to strength and it’s great seeing young people get on board. So, since the awards, we’re lucky enough to be able to continue with making new videos, as well as working with previous schools to further develop their ideas by creating teaching resources that schools can use for lessons around mental health and well-being.

There’s never been a more pressing need for this and not a day goes by when the topic is brought up in the news. We’re very lucky that we work with amazing young people that are willing to be open, but also really want to help others.

Headstart are now working with Dr Pooky Knightsmith and Pirate FM to help develop suitable resources and I believe that Youth in Mind can act as a fantastic catalyst to spread the word, develop skills, improve communication and continue helping people.

Here’s to Round 2!! 🙂

This project is part of the HeadStart Kernow programme funded by the Lottery Community Fund
